Coneboy

Coneboy is a character in Sugary Spire who originally had a playable role that was scrapped. He has cardboard cutouts that appear in the Tutorial.

Description

Coneboy appears as a strawberry ice cream scoop with a cherry on top of his head. He has yellow gloves and boots reminiscent of a classic cartoon, and can be seen holding a brown (presumably chocolate) popsicle. He has a big cone for a body and brown limbs.

Behavior

From what has been seen, what code and sprites remain in the files, and from what we have been told/shown, Coneboy would have most likely played like Kirby, being able to suck up enemies like a vacuum to gain their abilities and use them to navigate the level (such as getting a sword from eating a Smoreknight). He also could spit enemies out to destroy obstacles or kill more enemies.

Trivia

He bears a resemblance to Coneball, being a more humanoid ice cream creature.
His face resembles the original version of Kirby from the Kirby series.
- This is most likely because of Coneball's resemblance to Void Soul, as defeating Void on Soul Melter EX rewards you with Kirby's original boxart design as an alternate style for Kirby.
Coneboy was apparently more finished than Gumbob but less finished than Pizzano as a comparison to show how much was done with him.
Before being fully scrapped as a playable character, he was originally going to have Gustavo like sections where you swapped to him in order to use his unique moveset, however this was also scrapped in favor of having Rosette and Marble sections instead.
Coneboy is said to be a child by the sprite artist Fishbi.
Coneboy has had a total of 3 different designs, with the different designs seen in various sprites and artwork posted by devs.
In a Q&A when asked about whether or not Coneboy still had a role in the game the devs said yes and mentioned "he did get an entire casino after all, most kids these days don't have one of those" implying that he owns Coneboy Casino.
Fishibi has stated they "changed his eyes shape to dots" to "look less friendly."^[1]
